Karen J. Orlin: Karen Orlin focuses on legal services to early-and mid-stage businesses, not-for-profit entities such as non-governmental organizations, investors, banks and other financial institutions. These services include legal representation relating to transactions,corporate governance and reorganization, shareholder or member, owner, employee, contractor, vendor and customer agreements, personnel policy manuals, mergers and acquisitions, dissolution, commercial lending, and investment.

The first nine years of Ms. Orlin's legal career were in private practice with Kronish, Lieb, Weiner & Hellman LLP (now Cooley Godward Kronish LLP) in New York City, where she handled a broad range of business and commercial matters. Since 1981, she has practiced in South Florida: 20 years in law firms including Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A., seven years as Senior Vice President and in house counsel for a regional, publicly owned financial institution acquired by Wachovia Bank, N.A. in 1995, and, during 2007, as General Counsel for a national bank.
Ms. Orlin is an expert witness in the area of corporate governance and corporate and securities legal malpractice. She is a published author and a seminar speaker regarding mergers and acquisitions, securities law and opinion letter standards.
Ms. Orlin holds a J.D. from the HarvardLawSchool and a Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude, in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She is AV Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
