Professional Associations and Leadership Activities:
Rebeca Fleischer was born in New York, but moved to Florida at the young age of three where she was raised. She attended University of Florida as an undergraduate, spending a summer at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She graduated in 1995 with a B.A. in political science. Fleischer spent a year living in Israel after college, teaching high school students, and thereafter attended University of Miami, School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate in May 1999. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in the Fall 1999.
Fleischer is a litigator. Her specialty is family and matrimonial law. She spent five years at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office handling Title IV-D cases for the enforcement of child support matters. During her last two years there, she was promoted to Assistant Chief of the division. Thereafter, she was the lead attorney for Broward County’s Support Enforcement Division for two years. During her years in government, Fleischer helped obtain millions of dollars for single parents and the State of Florida.
Fleischer’s private law firm experience has been in both prominent larger firms and more intimate boutique firms handling a wide array of family law matters. She has represented affluent clients in property division matters, whose assets were worth millions of dollars and she has also represented the indigent in protecting their rights and those of their children. Her experience has exposed her to the many complex issues in family law including alimony, custody, domestic violence, adoptions, pre-nuptial agreements, modifications and post-judgment enforcement. Through Fleischer’s experience and knowledge, she is able to counsel and be compassionate with her clients during their emotional times, while zealously litigating highly contested matters and yielding positive results.
In addition to family law cases, Fleischer handles other civil and commercial litigation matters such as personal injury and other torts, contract disputes, foreclosure, collections and landlord-tenant disputes.
Fleischer is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and the Broward County Women Lawyers’ Association. She is an active member of Congregation Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus in Aventura and is a member of the PTO of the Hochberg Pep Day School there. She is also a member of Hadassah.
